Our history

Opened thirty years ago by the celebrated Milanese family, Fiorucci, out of their profound passion for fashion and design, Laudarte today is recognized worldwide as an emblem of luxury and excellence, a shining symbol of the Made in Italy brand in lighting and interior decoration.

The roots of luxury and elegance run deep in Laudarte. Our first models were inspired by the unique features of 18th century Baroque, where opulent, precious materials, the dazzling splendor of gold, and the refinement of spiral lines gave life to extraordinary creations such as Lume Ulmus, one of our most iconic pieces.

Laudarte-About-5

Bronze castings

We create our objects using various traditional techniques, including “lost wax” and “earth casting”.

Capodimonte porcelain

The fame of this refined porcelain from Naples has continued undisputed since the 18th century.
Its great strength enables the creation of layers as thin as rose petals; Laudarte has conceived and developed a number of unique shapes and uses for this material.

Italian marbles

Since the time of Ancient Rome, Italy has been a point of reference for this material, thanks for the many precious varieties available and sophisticated production skills.

Glass & Crystals

The crystal of Laudarte is always hand-cut and paste-coloured.
The technique is the one of cased crystal.
The crystal is covered with colour and then carved out, thus bringing the material back to life with the most vivid colours.

Scagliola

The ancient crafting technique of Scagliola combines the chips of semi-precious stones with plaster, achieving beautiful and peculiar effect.
First examples of this art appeared in Roman times.
Laudarte uses scagliola to ennoble materials such as plaster and selenite plates, giving life to inlaid work with incredible sheen, transparency and pearly whiteness.

Custom made fabrics

All Laudarte lampshades are 100% hand made in Italy.
With Laudarte you can choose the lampshade of any form & fabric creating a personal object that reflects your identity.

Tassellation

Inspired by the Etruscan and Roman tradition.
Mother of pearl, jade, gold and semi-precious stones.
